Senior Director, Grocery Manufacturers AssociationA study released in September 2008 by the Grocery Manufacturers Association called “Powering Growth Through Direct Store Delivery” showed that 77 percent of retailers who use direct store delivery to get goods to their consumers reported that they expect their DSD business to grow or remain constant for 2008. The study also stated that DSD products comprise 24 percent of unit sales and 52 percent of the grocery channel’s retail profits. The study was conducted by GMA’s Direct Store Delivery Committee and was based on both qualitative and quantitative research. More of the study’s results will be discussed in this informative educational session.
